With the tightening budget constraints
that many institutions face, the options for
international student recruitment efforts are increasingly limited. Although there
are more than a half million international
students in the United States, they only account for less than
4% of the total enrollment in U.S. Higher Education. In fact, Only
5 states account for 43% of all international students in the United States.
Furthermore, nearly 20% of all international students in the
United States attend a mere 25 schools. This highlights a considerable capacity for
growth in international enrollments across the remaining states
and schools.
These
facts indicate a clear need to develop efforts to assist more
schools across all states. Additional national
initiatives with a regional-focus can augment overall results to
assist more institutions in more states to successfully participate
in global student recruitment. |
